Celebrating an Incredible Year at Felix House School!
What a year it has been! We wrapped up another fantastic academic term with our annual Sports Day at Kinloss. It was an afternoon packed with energy, laughter, and team spirit, giving every pupil the chance to take part, step outside their comfort zone, and celebrate each other's successes.
At Felix House, success looks different for everyone. Whether it was completing a race, encouraging a peer, or simply joining in, every milestone reflected our therapeutic, relationship-centred approach.
Learning Beyond the Classroom
Sports Day was just one highlight of an action-packed term. Our pupils enjoyed a variety of enrichment experiences, including a World Cup themed project where they researched different countries, designed kits, and created national flags across English and Design Technology.
Throughout the year, learning extended well beyond the classroom through outdoor experiences, educational visits, careers guidance, and work experience opportunities.
Celebrating Pupil Achievements
We are immensely proud of the personal progress our pupils have made this year:
ASDAN Awards: Several pupils became the very first at Felix House School to achieve their ASDAN Awards Towards Independence, recognising their growing life skills and confidence.
Student Voice: Pupils represented the school by delivering assemblies and speaking to visitors, showcasing incredible growth in their confidence.
Investing in Our Team
Our staff have worked equally hard to develop their professional expertise. This year, team members completed qualifications including Early Career Teacher induction, Thrive Practitioner training, HLTA status, SENCO, senior leadership, and Exams Officer training as we prepare for our first GCSE examinations.
We would also like to extend a special congratulations to our Headteacher, Victoria Smithson, who graduated with a Master's degree in Education from Keele University!
