Overview of position

Job Title: Team Leader (Children and Young People’s Home)

Position: Full-time, Permanent

Rates of Pay:  40 hours (on a rota basis) £29,848 per annum

Location: Felix House, Hull. You may be required to work from other locations at the discretion of the company and with appropriate notice.

Main Duties:

WORKING WITHIN THE ORGANISATION:

  • Develop effective working relationships with the other employees within Cascade.

  • Support an open, positive and inclusive working culture.

  • Participate in the development of Cascade’s policies.

  • Participate in evaluation of Cascade against agreed organisational goals, business, and quality objectives.

  • Work to establish effective employer-employee relationships.

  • Minimise legal risks.

  • Participate in the maintenance of Cascade’s management information systems.

  • Assist in the formulation and implementation of care policies and procedures.

  • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the standards required by legislation related to the registration of Cascade. (CQC/Ofsted)

  • Act within Cascade’s budget based on Cascade’s objectives and within the projected revenue.

  • Work in a cost-effective manner.

  • Be involved in the implementation and maintenance of Cascade’s quality assurance programme.

  • Assist in the design and administration of an evaluation of the care standards and care service provision.

  • Systematically solve day-to-day problematical issues which arise.

CARE SERVICES:

  • Assist in the development of the philosophy, goals and objectives for the home.

  • Assist in the assessment of the effectiveness of care implementation and delivery.

  • Implement action to meet and maintain care standards.

  • Work in cooperation with members of multidisciplinary health teams in order to maximise opportunities for children and young peoples therapeutic care.

  • Ensure children and young peoples rights are protected.

  • To create monthly reports for professionals.

  • To plan and organise daily shifts and activities for the children and young people.

  • To administer and oversee medication including audits.

  • To be involved in the on-call rota.

PROFESSIONAL LONG TERM CARE LEADERSHIP:

  • To ensure a professional link between the staff team and management

  • To step in and support the management team with any tasks deemed necessary

  • Encourage innovative methods for the delivery of care.

  • Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.

  • Promote a positive image at all times.

HUMAN RESOURCES:

  • To lead on staff observations, providing feedback to individuals and supporting their progression.

  • To undertake supervisions within the staff team.

  • To play an active role in staff meetings and development.

  • Cooperate with the implementation, evaluation, orientation and induction of all new employees.

  • Support the implementation of Cascade’s policies and procedures.

  • Support a work atmosphere which promotes a high quality of work life.

  • Support and maintain a positive culture.

Experience Required

  • 2 years experience in a senior role in Health and Social Care (essential).

  • Experience of coaching and mentoring staff members (essential).

  • Experience of leading a team (essential).

  • Experience working with complex residents (essential) .

  • Hold a full UK driving license (desirable).

  • Experience of working with young people with SEMH (desirable).

Qualifications Required

  • Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care or equivalent.
