We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable SEMH Teacher to teach across Key Stages 2, 3, and 4.
Our pupils have experienced various barriers to mainstream education and require an individualised, therapeutic approach. In this role, you will inspire confidence, tailor learning to diverse needs, and instill the academic grounding and self-belief pupils need for life beyond school.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver Inspiring Learning: Plan and execute engaging, inclusive, and differentiated lessons across KS2–KS4 tailored to pupils with SEMH and SEND.
Cultivate Trust: Build strong, trauma-informed relationships that foster engagement, emotional regulation, and academic progress.
Personalise Assessment: Utilise effective assessment strategies to track progress, set meaningful targets, and inform EHCP and annual reviews.
Promote Positive Behaviour: Implement restorative practices and unconditional positive regard to create a safe, supportive classroom environment.
Collaborate & Innovate: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, therapeutic staff, families, and external agencies to support holistic pupil development.
Enrich School Life: Contribute to the broader life of the school through enrichment programs, educational visits, and extra-curricular activities.
Essential Criteria
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Demonstrated excellence in classroom management and adaptive teaching.
High expectations for all learners, regardless of their starting point.
Passion for inclusive education and child-centered advocacy.
Exceptional communication, emotional intelligence, and organisational skills.
Unwavering commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
Desirable Criteria
Proven experience teaching within SEMH or SEND environments.
Knowledge of trauma-informed, attachment-aware practices.
Experience supporting young people with Autism (ASD), ADHD, or Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN).
Personal Qualities
Patient, resilient, calm under pressure, and solution-focused.
Creative in pedagogical approach with a sense of warmth and humour.
A strong team player dedicated to collective school improvement.
