Job Title: Team Leader (Adult care)
Reports to: Registered Manager
Salary: £28,288 per annum - £13.60 ph
Working Hours: Full-time
Location: Withernsea, but you may be required to work from other locations at the discretion of the company and with appropriate notice.
As a Team Leader
You are required to provide leadership for the care functions of the home. This role is integral to supporting the development of the Cascade ethos within the home and across the company, serving as a role model for all staff and students. The primary focus is to develop the wider staff team, enabling them to work effectively while building the knowledge and skills needed to support our residents in achieving their goals.
Role Specific Duties
Working within the organisation:
Develop effective working relationships with the other employees within Cascade
Support an open, positive and inclusive working culture
Participate in the development of Cascade’s policies
Participate in evaluation of Cascade against agreed organisational goals, business, and quality objectives
Work to establish effective employer-employee relationships
Minimise legal risks
Participate in the maintenance of Cascade’s management information systems
Assist in the formulation and implementation of care policies and procedures
Assist in the implementation and maintenance of the standards required by legislation related to the registration of Cascade. (CQC/Ofsted)
Act within Cascade’s budget based on Cascade’s objectives and within the projected revenue
Work in a cost-effective manner
Be involved in the implementation and maintenance of Cascade’s quality assurance programme
Assist in the design and administration of an evaluation of the care standards and care service provision
Systematically solve day-to-day problematical issues which arise
Care Services:
Assist in the development of the philosophy, goals and objectives for the care practice
Assist in the assessment of the effectiveness of care implementation and delivery
Implement action to meet and maintain care standards
Work in cooperation with members of multidisciplinary health teams in order to maximise opportunities for residents therapeutic care
Ensure residents rights are protected
Encourage a model of self-care and residents progression
Record relevant activities in support plans
Evaluate standards of care competence
Professional Long Term Care Leadership:
Encourage innovative methods for the delivery of care
Encourage health promotion within care strategies
Seek opportunities for personal and professional growth
Promote a positive image for residency and employment within Cascade
Human Resources:
Cooperate with the implementation, evaluation, orientation and induction of all new employees
Support the implementation of Cascade’s policies and procedures
Support the effective resolution of team conflicts
Support a work atmosphere which promotes a high quality of work life
Support and maintain a culture of performance and excellence
Qualifications
Care certificate within 12 weeks of commencement of employment
Working towards or qualified to Level 3 or Level 4 NVQ in Health and Social Care
If employed within an Ofsted residential home is required to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care within 2 years of working with children. The post holder must hold, being working towards or willing to work towards this qualification.
