Education at Cascade

An Educational Experience of the Highest Quality

Cascade Schools are mixed Independent Schools for young people living with autism, learning disabilities, mental health and complex needs. The schools are unique, Ofsted registered facilities some of which are incorporated within Cascade’s Residential Children’s Homes.

Cascade Schools offer education for young people aged 8 - 19 years old, providing a safe learning environment where they have access to a bespoke 24 hour curriculum.

“Pupils show interest and enjoyment in what they study. They gain important knowledge of life skills and the local community through an
increasing variety of sensory and outdoor activities.”

our mission statement

Our ethos is based on evidence-based practices and approaches that have been proven to have a positive impact on the lives of young people and adults with autism, mental health conditions and learning disabilities. Our ethos supports their progression to more independent lives through a person-centred enriched approach. We ensure that every pupil can communicate by empowering them through an outstanding learning journey. The school aims to do this alongside Cascade’s ethos and Values.

Our aim is to support every pupil to:

  • Care for and respect themselves, others and the environment

  • Achieve beyond previous expectations, experiencing success

  • Know how to make safe choices

  • Be able to read and write so that they can communicate consistently with an increased vocabulary linked to experiences

  • Acquire maths and computing skills

  • Be active, immersing themselves in the community and the outdoors

  • Embrace their uniqueness and engage in the diversity of British Values

  • Enjoy attending school and making decisions independently with the skills to access the next stage of their life

Our Education Team

The School Advisory Board

The role of the School Advisory Board is to assist the Proprietary Board of Directors, the Head Teacher and the school staff to improve educational standards so that our children and young people have the chance to realise their full potential

When the School Advisory Board meets, along with the Head Teacher and Proprietary Board, they will set objectives around how the school will develop and improve. Help set policies, formulate plans and agree targets to help the school achieve these objectives, as well as regularly reviewing their strategic framework in light of progress.
